Big change · 2026–27

US Youth Soccer is moving to a school-year age system.

US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer, AYSO, and the MLS NEXT Academy division switch from calendar-year (Jan 1 – Dec 31) to seasonal-year (Aug 1 – Jul 31). Classmates stay together. The “trapped player” problem is fixed.
